Speaker Bio's

Furio Pietribiasi is responsible for Mediolanum business operations in Ireland. He is CEO of Mediolanum International Funds, which is the European Asset Management platform of the Banca Mediolanum Group and a member of the Board of Mediolanum International Life.

He has been active in the Irish financial services industry for over 25 years, serving as a member of numerous government sponsored advisory groups for asset management and funds. Furio is an active board member of the Irish Association of Investment Managers and the Financal Services Ireland (part of Ibec, Ireland’s largest business organisation) and has served as the Chairperson of both boards.

As part of the fund management industry’s international engagement, Furio co-chaired the Brexit Stream of the Anglo-Irish Dialogue between City of London and Financial Services Ireland and continues to be an active member and contributor to the ongoing dialogue.

Furio is a key advocate of Ireland's unique financial services innovation ecosystem. He has contributed to Ireland's fintech strategy and has advised and served on the board of many fast-growing companies in the sector in Ireland, the UK and Italy, including Scalapay, Soldo Financial Services and formerly at Prima Assicurazioni. Furio has also invested in several fintech start-ups.

He founded and has been chairperson of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Ireland. part of Assocamere Estero, which fosters, safeguards and develops commercial, industrial and financial relations between the two countries.

Gerry Cross was appointed as Director of Financial Regulation - Policy and Risk in May 2015.  He leads the Central Bank’s work on prudential and markets conduct regulatory policy and its supervisory risk framework (PRISM). Gerry is a member of the EBA Board of Supervisors and alternate member of the EIOPA Board of Supervisors. He co-chairs EBA’s Standing Committee on Regulation and Policy.

Gerry has had an extensive career in the area of financial services regulation. Before joining the Central Bank he worked at the European Commission, the UK Financial Services Authority, Fortis Group, the Institute of International Finance, and the Association for Financial Markets in Europe.

Brian is an experienced financial executive with diverse mix of Corporate Finance, Equity Capital Markets (ECM) and Strategic Planning experience across public and private companies and industries – all at a senior level.

He is leading the Department of Finance review of Ireland’s funds sector entitled ‘Funds Sector 2030: A Framework for Open, Resilient & Developing Markets.’ The review will also seek to ensure that Ireland’s funds sector framework is resilient, future-proofed, supportive of financial stability and a continued example of international best-practice. His team will look at a range of issues, which are set out in the published Terms of Reference, and these include examining the regimes for Section 110 entities, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and Irish Real Estate Funds (IREFs).

Hugues (H) Gillibert is the founder and CEO of Fitz Partners Ltd. In 2013, Hugues launched Fitz Partners, a unique source of meticulous calculations and benchmarks of investment fund fees & costs. Fitz Partners purpose is to support the European fund industry participants in their fiduciary responsibilities and cost management efforts. Fitz Partners answers asset managers’ persistent need for consistent and reliable fund fee data and benchmarks permitting fund operators and boards to conduct accurate reviews of their funds operating fees and other expenses.

A pioneer in fund cost calculations in Europe, from 1996 Hugues developed Fitzrovia International alongside Paul Moulton before selling their well-respected business.

Over the years, he has supported works on fund expenses from INREV, The IA, ALFI or EIOPA, and spoken at diverse industry events.

Giorgio Carlino has been the Head of Multi-Management at Mediolanum International Funds since August 2022. He is responsible for Mediolanum’s Manager Selection team as well as the multi-manager portfolio management unit, based in Dublin.

He started his career in Italy selecting active funds for high-net-worth clients. He moved to Frankfurt, immersing himself in a world of quants where he learnt to appreciate the importance of beta and the artistry to figure it up when to deploy active strategy to maximize return. He then moved to New York City, 2013, to lead a Multi Asset Division of Allianz Global Investors (150 Bil USD).

Richard is a Partner at Mercer and based in London. Richard joined Mercer in 2008 as a member of the Manager Research team, and focused on researching and recommending investment strategies across a range of equity universes and geographies. Since 2013 Richard has been Global Leader of Mercer's Equity Boutique, one of three asset class teams within Mercer's Manager Research function consisting of over 40 investment professionals based around the globe.  

Richard joined Mercer from Fidelity International, where he was a Manager on the Competitor and Fund Analysis team providing quantitative fund analysis on internal and external equity funds. Prior to this, Richard spent four years at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (now BlackRock) within their Investment Research team. Richard started his career in 1999 as a performance/statistics analyst at a UK government QANGO. 

Richard has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Southampton. He has also been awarded the CFA designation and holds the IMC qualification.

 

 

One-to-One Bio's

Brian O’Reilly is the Head of Market Strategy at Mediolanum International Funds. Brian has 25 years of experience in investment management and is responsible for contributing to the development of Mediolanum International Funds’ Investment House View, as well as sitting on its Investment Committee.

Brian began his career at Goldman Sachs, before spending 12 years at UBS, where he served as the Chief Investment Officer for UBS Wealth Management in both London and New York. Additionally, he held the role of CIO at Davy, Ireland's largest wealth management firm, before joining Mediolanum in 2018.

Inma Conde joined MIFL in 2018 as Head of Manager Research, and was promoted to Head of ESG in January 2023. Sustainability trends do not just affect consumers, investors are also becoming increasingly conscious about the impact of their investment choices. More and more clients want investment solutions which promote sustainable goals and as a result the demand for SFDR classified funds is growing at an astounding rate.

With a career spanning over 25 years, Inma has an impeccable career history joining MIFL from Minnesota Philanthropy Partners, one of the largest community foundations in the US, where she held the position of Director of Investments.

Inma is a CFA Charterholder, and has strong experience working with top tier asset managers specialising in quantitative and sustainable investing.

Terry Ewing has 35 years’ experience in the  industry, working for leading global international asset managers such as Standard Life, Old Mutual, The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Ignis Asset Management where he managed teams of equity portfolio managers.

As Head of Equities at Mediolanum International Funds, Terry is leading a growing team of investment professional who are responsible for the internally managed equity strategies.  Terry also brings his extensive experience to contribute to the Investment Committee’s view on asset allocation. 

Daniel Loughney has over 30 years industry experience, having worked for some of the leading international asset managers, thus bringing a deep understanding of market trends and the factors driving valuations across all asset classes. Daniel joined Mediolanum from Border to Coast Pension Group where he was Senior Fixed Income Portfolio Manager and Head of Fixed Income. Prior to that Daniel served as Senior Vice President at AllianceBernstein AM for over ten years.

As Mediolanum's Head of Fixed Income, Loughney is leading a growing team of investment professionals and will be responsible for internally managed fixed income strategies. Likewise, he will bring his experience actively contributing to the definition of the Investment Committee's macro vision, which will be the basis for strategic and tactical investment decisions for all funds, including multi-manager strategies.

Michael Falcon is a CEO, Trustee and Board Director with four decades of global business experience in Asset Management, Retirement, Insurance & Annuities, Commercial & Investment Banking, and Branded Consumer Products. Since April 2023, Michael serves as CEO of Eagle Capital Management, a $30 billion boutique investment manager, founded in 1988 and based in New York City. He is also Chair of the Independent Trustees of the Nomura Alternative Income Fund (NAIF), a 40 Act private credit interval fund organized in 2022. 

Most recently, Michael was Chairman and CEO of Jackson Financial and an Executive Director of its parent, Prudential PLC. Prior to that he was CEO of JP Morgan Asset Management for APAC, based in Hong Kong. Previously he held senior leadership roles at Merrill Lynch and Sara Lee Corporation, having started his career at Chase Manhattan Bank. Michael has a BS in Finance from Indiana University where he also completed degree work in Accounting 

William spent 20 years at BlackRock and its predecessor companies (Mercury & Merrill Lynch) covering the technology sector.  A portfolio manager since 2000, from 2008 to 2017 he was the sole PM for BlackRock’s offshore global technology fund, achieving top decile performance.

Prior to BlackRock, William served in the British Army. He had already started his career in finance by previously qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand. This is key to his success as a technology investor: his understanding of accounting and the financial measures of value creation enable him to focus on finding business models that create long-term investor value from technology and innovation.

Mayur Patel is President, Public Equity at 360 ONE Asset Management Limited. Mayur has 19 years of experience, including 15 years in the investment research and management domain. He is the fund manager for the firm’s flagship 360 ONE Focused Equity Fund, 360 ONE Flexicap Mutual fund and Equity portfolio of 360 ONE Balanced Hybrid Fund. 

Prior to 360 ONE Asset, Mayur was associated with DSP Investment Managers Private Limited (formerly known as DSP BlackRock Investment Managers Private Limited), where he was a fund manager for the equity portfolios of DSP BlackRock Equity Savings Fund and MIP Fund. He joined DSP in September 2013 as an Analyst in the Equities team. 

He has previously worked with Spark Capital as Lead Analyst, Energy in their institutional broking division and prior to that, been a part of Tata Motors and CRISIL. In 2014, he was ranked first in the StarMine Top Stock Picker award in the Energy sector. He is a Chartered Accountant and a CFA charterholder.

Nadim Rizk founded PineStone Asset Management Inc. in 2021 and serves as the firm’s CEO/CIO. Utilizing the investment philosophy and process Nadim developed more than 20 years ago, PineStone manages high-conviction, active equity strategies with a focus on long-term quality compounders. PineStone manages over $70B in assets for institutional, family office, and select private clients.  Nadim earned his Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the American University of Beirut. He moved to Canada to pursue his Master of Business Administration at McGill University and later earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Nadim serves on the board of Directors and Chairs the Investment Committee for the Cedars Cancer Foundation. He is an active participant as a global expert for the Honors in Investment Management program at McGill University.
